Pre-Appointment Guide
We’re excited for your upcoming brow appointment! This guide will help you prepare, understand the process, and feel confident about your session. Please read through carefully to ensure a smooth experience and the best results.
1. Appointment Duration & Numbing Cream
Session length: Most brow tattoos take around 2 hours.
With numbing cream applied at the salon: Plan for about 3 hours in total.
First appointment of the day (9am): You will have arranged to collect your numbing cream beforehand and will apply it yourself at home before your appointment.
Don’t worry — instructions for applying your numbing cream will be provided. The cream is carefully compounded for you, and your medical history is reviewed by the pharmacist to ensure it’s safe and suitable.
Please arrive with no makeup or skincare on your brow area. If you are coming straight from work or elsewhere, we can help remove makeup if needed.
2. Health & Medications
Your safety is our priority. Please complete the consultation form before your appointment. It covers contraindications that may postpone or prevent treatment, such as:
Being on blood-thinning medications that cannot be paused
Undergoing cancer treatments
Currently taking Accutane or other strong skin-affecting medications
Skin infections, eczema, or other active conditions on the brow area
If you’re unsure about any medications or conditions, please discuss with your doctor and note this on the consultation form.
Important: Avoid blood thinners, alcohol, and caffeine, before your appointment:
Blood thinners: 48 hours before, unless cleared by your doctor
Alcohol: 24 hours before
Caffeine: Day of appointment
These precautions help prevent excess bleeding and ensure the pigment deposits evenly.
3. Numbing Cream & Medical Form
Your numbing cream will be specially prepared for you by a pharmacist.
Complete your medical/consultation form at least 7 days before your appointment so the cream can be compounded in time.
If your appointment is sooner than 7 days, please contact the salon directly to arrange next steps.
The pharmacist may contact you directly if they need further clarification.
This is simply to ensure the cream is safe and effective for you, so you can relax and enjoy your appointment.
4. Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy
A $200 deposit is required to secure your appointment.
48 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule.
Less than 48 hours’ notice incurs 50% of your appointment cost, or $200 if cancelling/rescheduling without sufficient notice.
If the numbing cream has already been ordered, a $50 fee will apply.
5. What to Expect on the Day
Numbing Cream Application: Upon arrival, your numbing cream will be applied and left on for about an hour (unless you’re the first appointment of the day and have applied it at home).
Mapping & Design: Once the numbing cream has taken effect, it will be removed and we’ll begin mapping and designing your brows together. This is a collaborative process — we will draw, adjust, and refine until your brows suit your features perfectly.
Before & After Photos: I take photos of your brows before we start and after the session to track your results. These photos may also be used for promotional purposes on our website, social media, or emails with your consent. If you would prefer your photos not to be used publicly, please let me know before your appointment.
Tattooing: After you’re happy with the design, we’ll begin the tattooing process. The pigment is carefully deposited into your skin, following the mapped outline. You may feel some mild sensation, but the numbing cream keeps it comfortable.
Checking & Adjustments: During the session, we will continually check your brows, make small adjustments as needed, and ensure symmetry and shape are perfect.
Immediate Aftercare: After the session, I’ll give you your aftercare cream and go through instructions on how to care for your brows over the next few weeks.
